LeAF Studio School

Sponsorship, Support & Training Fund

At LEAF Studio we pride ourselves on having a busy and varied calendar of activities to encourage and enrich our students’ academic careers. Thank you to all of the parents and external companies/individuals who have supported us through fundraising and who have donated in the past, we hope that you will continue to support us.

As we are sure you will be aware, education budgets have and continue to be severely impacted over recent years. As a specialist Sport and Performing Arts school we have a significantly higher spend than most schools on equipment, fixtures, professional coaches and training; all things that would normally only be available at this level in fee paying schools. We want to provide the very best experience for all our young people but unfortunately the funding is not always there to do this.

With this in mind, we launched the Support & Training Fund alongside a variety of available sponsorship opportunities to enable us to ensure that we can continue to provide the very best specialist equipment, training, coaches and experiences that our students deserve.

Sponsorship

We have a variety of regular sponsorship opportunities within both specialisms and school wide events, which not only give the businesses an opportunity to be promoted to the community but also to be seen as a champion of education, supporting students with valuable kits, equipment and experiences.

Opportunities include:

  • Sports Specialism
We have students and teams who play in a variety of sports needing equipment, new kit, transports and facility hire. These include football, rugby, handball, basketball etc as well as individual sports like Weightlifting, boxing and skiing.
  • Performing Arts Specialism
Our performing arts department take part in a variety of experiences throughout the year including CYD, Move It and more. Sponsorship of any of these events will help to cover transport, facility hire and the cost of costume.
  • Awards Evening
Our annual presentation evening held at the Life Centre in Bournemouth in the summer term where we celebrate the fantastic achievements of our students.
  • Prom
Our Year 11 and 13 leavers prom which will take place after the exams are over.
  • Specialism Week
The annual sports week for Years 9 & 10 in the summer term. Offering them unique opportunities to try new things.
  • Summer show
The highlight of the PA Calendar is our annual summer show that has 2 sell out nights at the Lighthouse in Poole. A celebration of the years achievements for all year groups and a perfect platform for our students to showcase themselves to the performing arts industry.

Training Fund

Many schools are now, unfortunately, heavily reliant on parental support and we are no different in this instance. Where we are different is that the Support & Training Fund will be predominantly reserved exclusively for the Specialisms with whatever costs or resources they need. Occasionally this fund may be used towards academic and school wide spending. This would, however, then free up the rest of the school budget to support the academic side of the school and other associated costs. We are asking that parents sign up to our Support & Training Fund by committing to a small, regular donation to the school.

All monies received will be ring-fenced exclusively for our students, their development and their success. We will then be able to provide termly updates on what equipment and resources have been purchased to support the students, so parents will be able to clearly see the impact their contributions are having.

What we are asking for?

All we ask is that parents/carers or friends of LeAF Studio commit to a monthly payment of at least £5 – that is just £1.25 per week, which for the level of training students receive in school still represents exceptional value. If every family generously contributed at least £5 per month this would provide LeAF Studio and LS6 with a total of £1500 per month. Meaning on some months, Sport and Performing Arts could receive an additional £750 per month.

Examples of recent spending include:

School Wide

  • Transport coverage for academic trips
  • Table tennis tables for breaktime fun
  • Picnic tables for the field

Sport

  • New wheeled goalposts
  • New team kits
  • Updated gym equipment
  • Professional training from external coaches
  • Trips to professional clubs and facilities

Performing Arts

  • Subsidised trips and performances
  • Summer production costs
  • Black out curtains for the studios
  • Acro mats
  • Tap floor

We hope that you will see both the benefit and value in this new initiative, as we strive to provide the very best resources and experiences for your child.

Sixth Form Performing Arts Enrichment Contribution

At LEAF Studio Sixth Form, we are committed to providing our students with the very best preparation for their next steps into further training, higher education and the creative industries.

Alongside our existing specialist curriculum and the wider LEAF Studio Training Fund, we are introducing a Sixth Form Enrichment Contribution to help us provide additional, targeted opportunities specifically for our Sixth Form students.

This is an entirely new aspect of our provision and will allow us to expand the level of individualised coaching, professional development and progression support we can offer.

Depending on the level of support received and the needs of our students, we are hoping to provide opportunities including:

  • Additional 1:1 singing coaching, with specialist coaches already secured to support this provision.
  • Small-group ensemble singing, providing focused development of harmony, musicality and performance skills.
  • 1:1 and small-group acting coaching, with a particular focus on audition preparation and students' individual next steps.
  • Additional focused 1:1 support to help students prepare for auditions, applications and progression into further training or the professional industry.
  • Additional professional development opportunities, helping students develop the skills, confidence and knowledge required for their chosen pathway.
  • Support towards additional LEAF opportunities, with the possibility of discounted or complimentary access to some additional fees associated with events such as Move It and Showcase, subject to the event, costs involved and successful auditions. This could include support with costumes or reduced, or potentially no, additional fees.

The exact programme will develop throughout the academic year and will depend on the number of participating families, student needs, coach availability and the opportunities available to us.

The Sixth Form Enrichment Contribution is separate from the wider LEAF Studio Training Fund. The Training Fund supports specialist equipment, resources, coaches, experiences and opportunities across the wider school community, while the Sixth Form Enrichment Contribution enables us to provide additional and more targeted opportunities for our Sixth Form students.

Both forms of support are voluntary. Every student will continue to receive their full curriculum, specialist teaching and industry-focused training regardless of whether a contribution is made.

For families who are able to support both, this provides the greatest possible opportunity for us to continue investing in both the wider LEAF Studio experience and the additional individual development and progression of our Sixth Form students.

Every contribution helps us provide more opportunities, bring in additional specialist expertise and give our students the support they need to take their next steps with confidence.
